Holy Thursday Prayers Adoration

FIRST THURSDAYS DEVOTION Adoration

FIRST THURSDAYS DEVOTION

First Thursdays of each month are dedicated in Honor the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.

“I offer this communion to you Lord Jesus

in Honor of Your Body and most precious Blood

in reparation for the many blasphemies and sacrileges

that are being committed against Your Holy Eucharist.”

Act of Adoration and thanksgiving

V/. We adore Thee, CHRIST, and we bless Thee,

R/. Because by thy holy Cross Thou has redeemed the world.

I ADORE Thee, Eternal FATHER, and I give Thee thanks for the infinite love with which Thou didst deign to send thy only-begotten SON to redeem me, and to become the food of my soul.

I offer Thee all the acts of adoration and thanksgiving that are offered to Thee by the angels and saints in heaven and by the just on earth.

I praise, love, and thank Thee with all the praise, love, and thanksgiving that are offered to Thee by thine own SON in the Blessed Sacrament ; and I beg Thee to grant that He may be known, loved, honoured, praised, and worthily received by all, in this most divine Sacrament.

(Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be)

I ADORE Thee, Eternal SON, and I thank Thee for the infinite love which caused Thee to become man for me, to be born in a stable, to live in poverty, to suffer hunger, thirst, heat, cold, fatigue, hardships, contempt, persecutions, the scourging, the crowning with thorns, and a cruel death upon the hard wood of the Cross.

I thank Thee, with the Church militant and triumphant, for the infinite love with which

Thou didst institute the most blessed Sacrament to be the food of my soul.

I adore Thee in all the consecrated hosts throughout the whole world, and I return thanks for those who know Thee not, and who do not thank Thee.

Would that I were able to give my life to make Thee known, loved, and honoured by all, in this sacrament of love, and to prevent the irreverences and sacrileges that are committed against Thee !

I love Thee, divine JESUS, and I desire to receive Thee with all the purity, love, and affection of thy blessed Mother, and with the love and affection of thy own most pure Heart. Grant, O most amiable spouse of my soul, in coming to me in this most holy Sacrament, that I may receive all the graces and blessings which Thou dost come to bestow on us, and let me rather die than receive Thee unworthily.

(Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be)

I ADORE Thee, Eternal SPIRIT, and I give Thee thanks for the infinite love with which Thou didst work the ineffable mystery of the Incarnation, and for the infinite love with which Thou didst form the sacred body of our LORD JESUS CHRIST out of the most pure blood of the Blessed Virgin Mary, to become in this Sacrament the food of my soul. I beg Thee to enlighten my mind, and to purify my heart and the

hearts of all men, that they all may know this great benefit of thy love, and receive worthily this most blessed Sacrament.  (Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be)

Acts of Adoration and Reparation.

I ADORE Thee, my JESUS, in the Blessed Sacrament; I acknowledge Thee, true GOD and true Man.

By this my act of adoration I intend to make Thee reparation for the coldness of so many of thy people, who pass before thy churches, nay, before thy very tabernacle, where hour after hour Thou dost deign to dwell in loving impatience to communicate thyself to thy faithful, yet do not even bow the knee before Thee, but like the Israelites in the wilderness, seem by their indifference to loathe this heavenly manna.

I offer Thee thine own most precious Blood which Thou didst shed from the wound in thy Left Foot, in reparation for this hateful coldness, and entering therein, I cry, and will never cease to cry:

Blessed and praised every moment.

Be the most holy and divine Sacrament !

(Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be)

I PROFOUNDLY adore Thee, my JESUS; I acknowledge Thee present in the most holy Sacrament.

By this act; of adoration I would fain make amends for the forgetfulness of so many Christian people, who, when they see Thee go to the poor sick, to be their strength in their great journey to eternity, leave Thee unescorted, and hardly give Thee even one outward sign of homage.

I offer Thee, in reparation for this coldness, that most precious Blood which Thou didst shed from the wound in thy Right Foot, and entering therein, I cry, and will never cease to cry:

Blessed and praised every moment

Be the most holy and divine Sacrament!

(Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be)

I PROFOUNDLY adore Thee, my JESUS, true Bread of life eternal; and by this my act of adoration I would fain make Thee compensation for all the wounds with which thy Sacred Heart bleeds daily to see the profanation of those churches wherein Thou dost vouchsafe to abide, beneath the sacramental species, to receive the love and adoration of thy people. I offer Thee, in reparation for all

these irreverences, that most precious Blood which Thou didst shed

from the wound in thy Left Hand, and, entering therein, I will ever cry:

Blessed and praised every moment:

Be the most holy and divine Sacrament!

(Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be)

I PROFOUNDLY adore Thee, my JESUS, Living Bread come down from heaven; and by this act of adoration I would fain make amends for all the acts of irreverence which thy people day by day commit whilst they assist at holy Mass, in which bloodless Sacrifice Thou dost renew the very Sacrifice which once Thou didst consummate on Calvary for our salvation. I offer Thee, in reparation for all this

ingratitude, that most precious Blood which Thou didst shed from the wound in thy Right Hand; and, entering- therein, I unite my voice with the voices of the holy angels who adore around thy throne:

Blessed and praised every moment

Be the most holy and divine Sacrament !

(Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be)

I PROFOUNDLY adore Thee, my JESUS, true Victim of expiation for our sins; and I offer Thee this act of adoration in compensation for the sacrilegious outrages Thou dost receive from so many of thy ungrateful people, who dare to draw nigh to Thee and receive Thee in Communion with mortal sin upon their souls.

In reparation for these hateful sacrileges, I offer Thee those last drops of thy most precious

Blood which Thou didst shed from the wound in thy Side; and, entering therein,

I approach Thee with acts of adoration, love, and thanksgiving,

and, with all holy souls who are devout to Thee in this most holy Sacrament, I cry:

Blessed and praised every moment.

Be the most holy and divine Sacrament !

(Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be)

Feast :2 August

Saint Peter Julian Eymard

We trust “The Real Presence” is only an introduction to the whole series of Peter Eymard’s works, which we would be glad to see soon in English garb.

No sentence from the writings of this sainted servant of God can fail to give strength and courage and comfort to all lovers of our Eucharistic Lord.

May his words help to establish the reign of Jesus Christ in the hearts of the Faithful!

Our Father
Thy Will be done

Our Father Who are in Heaven

in the heaven of the Eucharist,
to You Who are seated on the throne of grace and love,
be benediction, and honor, and power and glory
for ever and ever!

Hallowed be Your Name

first in ourselves, through the spirit of
Your humility, obedience, and charity.
May we in all humility and zeal
make You known, loved, and adored by all men
in the Holy Eucharist,

Thy Kingdom Come

Thy Eucharistic kingdom.
Rule Thou alone forever over us
for Your greater glory
through the power of Your love,
the triumph of Your virtues,
and the grace of a Eucharistic vocation
in my state as a layman.

Grant us the grace and mission of Your holy love
so that we may be able to effectively extend
Your Eucharistic kingdom everywhere
and realize the desire you expressed:

‘I have come to cast fire on the earth;
and what would I, but that it be kindled?’

Oh! that we might be the incendiaries of this heavenly fire!

Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven
Grant us the grace to find all our joy
in wanting You alone,
in desiring You alone,
and in thinking of You alone.

Grant that by denying of ourselves always
and in all things,
we may find light and life
in obeying Your good, acceptable and perfect Will.

I will what You will.
I will it because You will it.
I will it as You will it.
I will it as long as You will it.
Perish our thoughts and desires
if they are not purely from You, for You and in You.

Give us this day our daily bread
You are our Eucharistic Lord
and You alone will be our food and clothing,
our riches and glory,
our remedy in illness,
and our protection against all evil.
You will be all things to us.

And forgive us our trespasses
Forgive me Jesus, for I am sorry for all my sins
just as they stand in your eyes.

As we forgive those who trespass against us
For anyone who has offended us in any way,
with our whole heart we forgive them
and desire for them the gifts of Your love.
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil

Deliver us Jesus, from the demon of pride,
impurity, discord and complacency.

Deliver us from the cares and worries of life
so that with a pure heart and a free mind
we may joyfully spend our life
and devote all that we are and all that we have
in the service of our Eucharistic Lord.
Amen.

In You, O Lord Jesus, have I hoped;
let me not be confounded forever.
You alone are good.
You alone are powerful.
You alone are eternal.

To You alone be honor and glory,
love and thanksgiving forever and ever.

Amen

MOST HOLY TRINITY, I adore Thee! My God, My God,
I love Thee in the Most Blessed Sacrament.

I believe that You are present in the Sacrament of the Altar

My Jesus, I love You with all my heart. I grieve for having so many times offended Your infinite goodness.

I promise with Your grace never more to offend You in the future.

Now, miserable and unworthy though I be, I consecrate myself to You without reserve.

I give You my entire will, my affections, my desires, and all that I possess. From now on dispose of me and of all that I have as You please.

All that I ask of You and desire is Your holy love, final perseverance, and the perfect accomplishment of Your will.

I recommend to You the souls in purgatory; but especially those who had the greatest devotion to the most Blessed Sacrament and to the Blessed Virgin Mary. I also recommend to You all poor sinners.

My dear Saviour, I unite all my affections with the affections of Your most loving Heart; and I offer them, thus united, to Your eternal Father, and beseech Him in Your name to vouchsafe, for Your love, to accept them.

Amen.

Lord, have mercy on us.

Christ, have mercy on us.

Lord, have mercy on us.

Christ, hear us.

Christ, graciously hear us.

God the Father of Heaven, Have mercy on us.

God the Son, Redeemer of the world, Have mercy on us.

God the Holy Spirit, Have mercy on us.

Holy Trinity, One God, Have mercy on us.
Sacred Host, offered for the salvation of sinners,
Have mercy on us.

Sacred Host, annihilated on the altar for us and by us,
Have mercy on us.

Sacred Host, despised by lukewarm Christians,
Have mercy on us.

Sacred Host, mark of contradiction, Have mercy on us.

Sacred Host, delivered over to Jews and heretics,
Have mercy on us.

Sacred Host, insulted by blasphemers, Have mercy on us.

Sacred Host, Bread of angels, given to animals,
Have mercy on us.

Sacred Host, flung into the mud and trampled underfoot,
Have mercy on us.

Sacred Host, dishonored by unfaithful priests,
Have mercy on us.

Sacred Host, forgotten and abandoned in Thy churches,
Have mercy on us.

Be merciful unto us, Pardon us, O Lord.

Be merciful unto us, Hear us, O Lord.
For the outrageous contempt of this most wonderful Sacrament, We offer Thee our reparation.

For Thine extreme humiliation in Thine admirable Sacrament, We offer Thee our reparation.

For all unworthy Communions, We offer Thee our reparation.

For the irreverences of wicked Christians, We offer Thee our reparation.

For the profanation of Thy sanctuaries, We offer Thee our reparation.

For the holy ciboriums dishonored and carried away by force, We offer Thee our reparation.

For the continual blasphemies of impious men, We offer Thee our reparation.

For the obduracy and treachery of heretics, We offer Thee our reparation.

For the unworthy conversations carried on in Thy holy temples, We offer Thee our reparation.

For the profaners of Thy churches which they have desecrated by their sacrileges, We offer Thee our reparation.

That it may please Thee to increase in all Christians the reverence due to this adorable Mystery, we beseech Thee, hear us.

That it may please Thee to manifest the Sacrament of Thy Love to heretics, we beseech Thee, hear us.

That it may please Thee to grant us the grace to atone for their hatred by our burning love for Thee, we beseech Thee, hear us.

That it may please Thee that the insults of those who outrage Thee may rather be directed against ourselves, we beseech Thee, hear us.

That it may please Thee graciously to receive this our humble reparation, we beseech Thee, hear us.

That it may please Thee to make our adoration acceptable to Thee, we beseech Thee, hear us.

Pure Host, hear our prayer.

Holy Host, hear our prayer.

Immaculate Host, hear our prayer.
Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world, Spare us, O Lord.

Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world, Graciously hear us, O Lord.

Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world, Have mercy on us.

Lord, have mercy on us. Christ, have mercy on us.
V. See, O Lord, our affliction,

R. And give glory to Thy Holy Name.

Let Us Pray:

O Lord Jesus Christ, Who dost deign to remain with us in Thy wonderful Sacrament to the end of the world, in order to give to Thy Father, by the memory of Thy Passion, eternal glory, and to give to us the Bread of life everlasting Grant us the grace to mourn, with a heart full of sorrow, over the injuries which Thou hast received in this adorable Mystery, and over the many sacrileges which are committed by the impious, by heretics and by bad Catholics.

Inflame us with an ardent zeal to repair all these insults to which, in Thine infinite mercy, Thou hast preferred to expose Thyself rather than deprive us of Thy Presence on our altars, Who with God the Father and the Holy Spirit livest and reignest one God, world without end. Amen.
